Taper Candles Introduction

Taper candles are long and slim and elegantly enhance a dining room table centerpiece or as decoration on a fireplace mantel.

Although taper molds are available, it’s far more satisfying to create your own by simply dipping your wick into melted wax in an appropriate dipping can or pot.

Taper candles are made by dipping the wick into the molten wax (not as you might be used to – pouring wax into molds). It isn't a hard process but it is time-consuming, so make sure to have some free time.

The style of taper that you produce is up to you. Shorter taper candles have a more rustic feel, while longer candles suit elegant dinner parties.

The choice is yours and is created by the choice of length of taper and the amount of wax layered on.
