Floating Candles Introduction There is one instance where wax and water do mix -- Floating Candles! Floating candles are simply small candles with a wider top than base that enables the candle to stay up right and float.

 

 

 

 

You’re no doubt aware that all candles will float because wax itself floats, it’s just the shape of the candle that achieves the perfect floating situation.

While making floating candles is relatively easy, making the perfect floater can take a little work and trial and error. The fundamental instructions for floating candles are the same as with votive candles, but with floaters you will need a small mold that is larger at the top than it is at the bottom.

Many candle supply companies sell ‘tart’ or ‘floater’ molds.
